If you're thinking about getting a personal trainer, I can safely and enthusiastically recommend John Galbraith. I have been working out regularly for about 15 years and when I started with John about 3 months ago, I did so because I felt that my solo training was getting extremely boring. More importantly, I doubted its effectiveness. Anyone who works out knows that if you don't have a partner or trainer, you can't push your limits because you can't safely handle the weight.
In three months with John, I have put on 30 pounds of muscle and my strength has increased measurably; so much so, in fact, that I can't really believe it. But the scale doesn't lie.
John is an incredible trainer. His knowledge of effective exercise and ability to motivate are just amazing. I would describe myself as having been completely burnt out on the gym. I was down to one or two trips per month. Now I can't wait to get in there. John clearly explained how to use each piece of equipment safely; why each exercise was important; and how to get maximum results from it. John Galbraith is the best Personal Trainer I have ever worked with, bar none! I have been health conscious and active throughout most of my life. In the past 10 years, usually after a bout of inactivity, I have hired a trainer to help me get out of a slump or move me to the next level of fitness. John is the 5th Personal Trainer I have worked with, his approach and methods differ markedly from past Trainers and so have the results. John focuses on high intensity, with fewer reps, and insists on progression— encouraging and enabling me to do FAR more than I would have ever attempted on my own. His approach has resulted in increased muscle mass that has dramatically improved my metabolism and left me feeling and looking more toned and firm than I have since my early 30's (my 18 year old daughter says I'm in better shape than most of her friends!) The other major benefits of working with John are fun and efficiency. I actually look forward to my sessions with him and I can do a full body workout in less than an hour. In fact the approach is so efficient that John has taught me how to complete either an upper body or lower body weight routine, on days I workout alone, that gets me in and out of the gym in half an hour.
